Storms Rolling Through the Area Later Tonight

A line of storms will be moving through the metro area that should stay well below severe limits. Here is the latest from the SPC and they have us in a small are of day1otlk_2000

risk for later tonight. Basically the SPC is along the same line of thinking that I am in the sense that we are lacking several parameters. First and foremost we have a cold wedge in place and it doesn’t look like it will budge in time, take a look a the WRF forecasted hires_t2m_se_23

There could be a small window in the early morning hours around 5-6am around Lagrange, but that threat is very small. Take a look at the instability map for around the hires_cape_se_20

And you can see that we will have none, at least according to the NAM. Here is the timing2am on this line of storms as it moves into the NW section of the state by 2am, and then 4amAgain, these storms should stay below severe limits but I will continue to monitor for you!
